<br />recognizes that the results of water conservation programs relies on an informed public that <br />understands how their individual water use patterns affect the availability of water in area ~treams" <br />Surveys of local residents and recreational users have found strong public support for programs and <br />projects which promote the maintenance of adequate streamflow conditions to support aquatic life, <br />aesthetics and recreational uses. <br /> <br />The City of Aspen Water Department produced this draft water conservation plan to provide the <br />basis for a public discussion on which water conservation strategies to include in its water <br />management program. The availability of the draft plan and notice of the public meeting were <br />published on SeDtember 24.1996. The Water Department will solicit public input at a meeting to <br />be held: <br /> <br />Wednesday, November 6, 1996, at 5 p.m. <br />Council Chambers, City Hall, 130 S. Galena Street, Aspen, Colorado <br /> <br />The results of the public input and comments on the plan will be summarized at a public hearing held <br />before the City Council scheduled for November 25. 1996. <br /> <br />22 <br />
