l
-1
I
I
I
1

I
I
I
I
I
I

RECOMMENDATIONS

One of the water conservation goals is for the District to act as a role
model for the community in implementing, practicing and aChieving water
conservation. The primary emphasis of the District's goals are
education and effective communications along with regulation. The
underlying belief is that if the public understands the economics,
methodologies and positive effects of water conservation, they can make
informed water use decisions.

Best Management Practices include:

Having analysis available to the public showing comparative
usage data on monthly utility bills, and the control of water
use during peak usage periods, through voluntary or mandatory
outdoor water restrictions.

Sponsoring Xeriscape seminars offering education and hands on
experience through a demonstration garden.

Disseminating water conservation information to the pUblic.

Cooperation with local governments and homeowners associations
to adopt regulations and codes for water wise landscaping and
fixtures.

9
