Water Efficient Appliances and Fixtures <br /> <br />Because of the average age of the homes in Englewood and the City's present belief that many of <br />the older appliances and fixtures will be replaced with more water efficient appliances and <br />fixtures through natural retrofit, the City's efforts for water efficient appliances and fixtures will <br />be focused toward encouraging replacement of non-conserving toilets, clothes washers, faucets <br />and shower heads through education/awareness programs, code adoption and coordinated efforts <br />with surrounding municipalities. <br /> <br />Total Estimated Cost of Program: <br /> <br />5 5,OOOZ <br /> <br />Water Savings by 2027 <br /> <br />393 acre-feet/year <br /> <br />Program Cost/AF <br /> <br />513 <br /> <br />Evaluation Program: <br /> <br />Distribution of 10,000 brochures <br />and information packets to city <br />residents by July 1998. <br /> <br />The City will adopt a plumbing code that requires all new buildings and remodelling to install <br />1.6 gallon toilets and 2.5 gpm shower heads.
