.

.

.

On May 13, 1993, another training class was held in Grand Junction with six people
representing: City of Grand Junction, City of Grand Junction Cemetery, Mesa Valley School
Dist 51, and the Town of Rifle.

Participants were encouraged to begin collecting and entering information into the program as
soon as possible.

Training Follow-up

During November and December 1994, the individuals and organizations who previously
attended the training sessions were contacted by telephone to fmd out if they had utilized the
manual and computer software. They were asked the following questions:

1. Did your department use the landscape water audit program? If no, why not?
2. If you used the program, did you record any water savings?
3. Are there any improvements to the program that you would suggest?
4. Any comments you would like to make?

The responses were:

Mesa Valley School District 51 - stated they did not use the program because they did
not have any water meters at their site to measure effectiveness.

City of Grand Junction - did not use the program because of budget constraints involving
computer equipment and related training.

Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center - did not use the program due to staffing
changes.

La Junta Parks and Recreation, Cemetery - budget constraints made it difficult to
incorporate into work program.

City of La Junta, Utilities - did not use the program at one facility but still intended to
implement it at their golf course.

City of Los Animas - used the program to help schedule days of watering, They were
unable to calculate water savings as there are no water meters on the sites they irrigate.

Otero Jr. College - did not use the program because of staffing changes and budget
constraints.

-3-
