<br />EXHIBrr A <br /> <br />1. Soooe of Services <br /> <br />The Project consists of designing and installing a high-altitudc Xeriscapc landscape in a park in Steamboat Springs <br />to demonstrate low water.usc landscape techniques in a mountain environment. The Project will monitor water use <br />associated with the demonstration site and compare to a similar park tbat docs not have water efficient landscaping. <br />The Project aims to evaluate water use reduction from the demonstration site, provide new infonnation about <br />adaptabilitY of water conserving plants and educate the public about water efficient landscapes. The Project site is <br />highly visible and attracts over 500,000 visitors annually. This outdoor water conservation project will also provide <br />an opportunity for other communities to learn about the benefits and details of a water efficient landscape project <br />in a high.altitude setting. <br /> <br />A guide to watcr-efficient landscaping in mountain communities will also be developed to accompany the landscape <br />demonstration. This publication will be unique to the Western Slope and mountain environments and will provide <br />information not currently available in Colorado. The publication will be developed, printed and distributed by the <br />Contractor. <br /> <br />The Contractor wiU enlist assistance and guidance from loeallandscape professionals and professional associations <br />for the design of the landscape and publication. The Contractor will establish a plan to monitor the water use and <br />visitor opinions of the landscape demonstration. Results will be publicized in the local media and provided in a Final <br />Report. <br /> <br />A Final Report shall include a project summary, discussion of parties involved, water use comparisons and analysis, <br />project findings and results. This Report will conclude project results and will serve as information to be shared with <br />other Colorado communities. <br /> <br />2 Proiect Tune of Performance <br /> <br />The Project will commence on July 6, 1992, or upon full and proper execution of this Contract. <br /> <br />The Project will be completed on or before December 30, 1993. However, the Project time of performance may be <br />extended subject to the mutual agreement of the State and ContractOr. A written request for extension shan be <br />submitted to the State by the Contractor at least thirty (30) days prior to December 30, 1993, and shall include a <br />full justification for the extension request. <br /> <br />3.
