<br />of: <br />. The East Cherry Creek Valley water and sanitation <br />district; <br />. The Inverness water and sanitation district; and <br />. The Arapahoe county water and wastewater <br />authority . <br />Creates a water enterprise of the district. Specifies that the voters <br />of the district will elect the 8 members of the district's board of directors <br />(board). Authorizes the board to take such actions as are necessary to <br />analyze water demands and supply options and take action to address <br />water demands and supply options. <br />Authorizes the district to seek ways' to use renewable water <br />conjunctively with Denver basin aquifers and to provide water supplies <br />to water providers within the district. Requires the district's water <br />decrees for water rights that would transport water across a water division <br />boundary to include terms and conditions, on a case-by-case basis, to <br />ensure that present decreed beneficial uses of water will not be <br />substantially impaired or substantially increased in cost. <br />Requires the district to institute a community education program <br />to inform the public of current and future water needs and available <br />resources. Requires the district to establish a website, hold public <br />hearings, and hold seminars to educate the public.. Requires the board to <br />adopt an official action plan for the district, proposing improvements or <br />works needed to best utilize water resources. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: <br />2 SECTION 1. Title 37, Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended <br />3 BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW ARTICLE to read: <br />4 ARTICLE 49 <br /> <br />5 Douglas-Arapahoe Water Conservation District <br />6 37-49-101. Definitions. As USED IN THIS ARTICLE, UNLESS THE <br />7 CONTEXT OTHERWISE REQUIRES: <br />8 (1) "ADVISORY COMMmEE" MEANS THE COMMITIEE CREATED IN <br />9 SECTION 37-49-105. <br />10 (2) "BOARD" MEANS THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DISTRICT <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />AS CREATED IN SECTION 37-49-103. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />SB05-242 <br />
