Division engineers. (1) (a) The state engineer, with <br />5 the approval of the executive director of the department of 11attl1 a1 WATER <br />6 resources, shall appoint one division engineer for each division. Each <br />7 division engineer shall be a licensed professional engineer and shall have <br />8 such additional qualifications as may be specified from time to time by <br />9 the state engineer. The state engineer, with the approval of said executive <br />10 director, may employ such assistants and staff members as are necessary <br />11 to enable each division engineer to carry out his or her duties. <br />12 SECTION 38. 37-92-203 (5), Colorado Revised Statutes, is <br />13 amended to read: <br />14 37-92-203. Water judges - jurisdiction. (5) Each waterreferee <br />15 authorized by this section shall be appointed by the water judge of the <br />16 water division from a list of not less than three qualified persons to be <br />17 submitted to the water judge by the executive director of the department <br />18 of natwal WATER resources; but, in any water division, the water judge <br />19 may elect to perform the functions which THAT by this article would <br />20 otherwise be vested in the water referee.
