A BILL FOR AN ACT
CONCERNING THE FINANCING OF WATER PROJECTS.

Bill Summary

(Note: This summary applies to this bill as introduced
and does not necessaril reflect any amendments ~ may be
subsequently adopted.

Imposes a surtax upon.corporate and individual income tax
for the purpose of financing water projects, and requires that
such surtax be clearly identified on income tax returns as
being a water project surtax. Provides that all moneys
collected from the surtax be credited to a Colorado water
projects fund and that moneys in the fund be expended by
appropriation of the general assembly. States that eligible
water projects shall include, but not be limited to, any type
of project relating to water resource conservation, supply,
treatment, storage, management, control, or use, including
hydroelectric facilities, or any other project the general
assembly determines to be necessary for the health, safety,
and welfare of the citizens of the state.

4 Revised Statutes 1973, 1982 Repl. Vol., is amended BY THE

5 ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION to read:

6 39-22-513. Surtax for water projects - water projects
