Article 91 oftitle 24, Colorado Revised Statutes, is <br />amended BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION to read: <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />24-91-111. Health Insurance. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />PROVISION Of LAW TO THE CONTRARY IN TITLE 10, C.R.S" EVERY <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR AND SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE HEALTH INSURANCE <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />COVERAGE FOR EACH OF ITS EMPLOYEES WHO WORKS ON A PUBLIC <br />PROJECT, AS DEFINED IN SECTION 24-92-102 (8), AND FOR SUCH <br />EMPLOYEE's OEPENDENTS. THE CONTRACTOR OR SUBCONTRACTOR MAY <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />REQUIRE THE EMPLOYEE TO PAY A PORTION OF THE PREMIUMS FOR SUCH <br /> <br />HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE, SUCH HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE <br /> <br />SHALL ALSO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF ARTICLE l60F TITLE 10, C.R.S. <br />SECTION 2. Effective date - applicability. (1) This act shall <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />take effect at 12:01 a,m, on the day following the expiration of the <br /> <br />ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly that is <br /> <br /> <br />allowed for submitting a referendum petition pursuant to article V, section <br /> <br /> <br />1 (3) ofthe state constitution; except that, if a referendum petition is filed <br /> <br />against this act or an item, section, or part of this act within such period, <br /> <br />then the act, item, section, or part, if approved by the people, shall take <br /> <br /> <br />effect on the date of the official declaration of the vote thereon by <br /> <br /> <br />proclamation of the governor. <br /> <br /> <br />(2) The provisions of this act shall apply to contracts or <br /> <br />23 agreements entered into for public projects on or after the applicable <br />24 effective date of this act. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />HBOl-1299 <br />
