COLORADO <br /> Colorado Water <br /> Conservation Board <br /> Department of Natural Resources <br /> 1313 Sherman Street, Room 718 <br /> Denver, CO 80203 <br /> Memorandum <br /> To: Becky Mitchell, Section Chief <br /> From: Kevin Reidy Et Ben Wade, Water Supply Planning <br /> Date: May 25, 2017 <br /> Subject: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for Center for Resource Conservation <br /> Recommendation: <br /> The Water Supply Planning staff recommends that Rebecca Mitchell, Section Chief, <br /> approve a Water Efficiency Grant to fund a Turf Removal Et Replacement Study in the <br /> amount of $45,449 for the Center for Resource Conservation (CRC). <br /> Summary of Grant Application <br /> The CRC is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that partners with utilities across <br /> Colorado to implement water conservation programs. CRC is applying to use funds to <br /> research turf removal Et replacement programs across the country to identify <br /> innovative programs, determine success rates and feasability within Colorado. <br /> CRC will also implement turf removal Et replacement in up to 20 homes across the <br /> Front Range removing a minimum of 200 square feet of turf white maintaining <br /> communication and follow up with participants. CRC will provide their findings, data <br /> and guidance to the conservation community through conferences and webinars. <br /> Landscape change Et a reduction of outdoor water use can help the 400,000 acre-foot <br /> conservation goat outlined in the Colorado Water Plan. <br /> The total cost of the project is $61,169. CRC is committing 26% matching funds in the <br /> form of $11, 700 of in-kind match Et $4,650 of municipal partner in-kind services. <br /> CWCB staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined that <br /> the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals. <br /> Attached is the internal checklist used to evaluate the application. <br /> Attachment: Evaluation Checklist <br />
