Colorado Water Information Dashboards Project Summary Report April 13,2017
Page 4 of 8
• More advanced map pop-ups with custom graphs
• Separate document management pages for Board members and Shareholders
• Data entry forms for field staff
Links to each partner's delivered dashboard are included in Table 2 on the previous page.
Visiting each of these will make it apparent that most of the partners have moved beyond the
template in significant ways. Please note that most of the partners have also opted to keep
their dashboards private, so limited public content is available on their pages. However some
public facing custom content is interesting to note, such as the Western Mutual shares
calculator, or the United Water current conditions map.
Ongoing Benefits of this Grant
The open ended and open source architecture of the Dashboard Template has made it
extremely affordable for the partners to leverage the existing Dashboard and add new custom
features that before this project would have been out of reach for them financially. Water
users not involved in the original grant have begun to benefit from this project now as well -
Colorado Cana[ Company and Siloam Well Users in Division 2 and even an entity out of Texas
have already leveraged the public template to stand up data management toots for their
systems at a fraction of what it would have cost before this project. A video illustrating the
Colorado Canal Dashboard that is built on the Dashboard template can be viewed here:
https://Youtu.be/OaIG7nKkiw8.
The Public Repository
A free website has been created at http://www.codes-coop.com for the purpose of hosting,
in perpetuity, the code and process documents resulting from this project, as well as new
code and processes developed from these deliverables in the future. The contents of this site
are stilt changing as Leonard Rice Engineers is committed to posting new code and
advancements to original code to this site.
Statewide Activities and Recommendations
The Task 3 deliverable is an overview of the findings of the state-wide discovery activities
performed under that task and guidelines for future development of dashboards in basin's
outside Division 1. This section constitutes that deliverable.
Statewide Activities
During the early months of the project, LRE consultants visited Division offices in Divisions 2,
4, 5 and 7 to discuss the Dashboards project and get water commissioner perspective from
these basins. We connected with Division staff in other offices through multiple venues, such
as taking advantage of gatherings and events (such as Water Congress, DARCA meetings,
LeonardRice
ENGINEERS,INC
