There are no decreed surface diversions
within this reach of stream, However, the City of Cripple Creek applied for a conditional storage
water right within this reach of stream, The proposed dam would inundate both Forest Service
and BLM lands and would require a right-of-way permit from both agencies. Based on this
analysis staff has determined that water is available for appropriation on Oil Creek, from its
headwaters to the confluence with Fourmile Creek, to preserve the natural environment to a
reasonable degree without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights,

CWCS Staff's Instream Flow Recommendation
Staff recommends the Board form its intent to appropriate on the following stream reach:

Stream: Oil Creek
Water Division: 2
Watershed: Fourmile Creek
Upper Terminus: Headwaters at (Latitude: 380 50' 17") (Longitude: 1050 05' 59")
Lower Terminus: Fourmile Creek at (Latitude 380 50' 22") (Longitude 1050 10' 29")
Counties: Teller
Length: 7.5 Miles
USGS Quad(s): Pikes Peak and Cripple Creek North
Flow Recommendation: 1.80 cfs (May 15th - June 30th)
0,75 cfs (July 1 st - October 14th)
0.30 cfs (October 15th - April 14th)
0,75 cfs (April 15th - May 14th)

Oil3k_hw_fourmile_ISF _RPT
Last printed 01/07/00 10:50 AM
