,
Colorado recognizes that with changing hydrologic conditions, additional capacity is required to
meet the Tamarack 1 objectives and this is why the Tamarack Wildlife Area water right allows the
addition of 7 more recharge wells. The drilling of 6 of these wells at a cost of about$1.2M(paid for
by SPWRAP and State of Colorado)started in April 2013 and completed in December 2013.
SPWRAP is currently investigating a pipeline south under Interstate 76 in order to recharge further
from the river so more flexibility in when accretions return to the river. Tamarack 1 project has an
overall limit on average annual net diversions of 30,000 ac-feet and for the first 9 years of operations
the actual diversions have annually averaged 18,000 ac-fl, so additional diversion capacity exists.
Tamarack 1 Credits for Shortage Reduction;acre-feet(PRRIP Start January 2007)
NOV DEC JAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN { JUL AUG SEP OCT Total
2007 641 587 506 346 0 698 0 0 0 515 3291
2008 480 0 0 3038 . 1666 721 0 0 56 266 0 457 6683
2009 0 1020 929 949 697 678 277 376 344 440 435 429 6575
2010 0 0 0 2501 1249 1821 858 0 0 0 0 819 7248
2011 372 0 0 2348 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2720
2012 0 0 0 2550 3118 2281 100 0 131 106 82 805 9173
2013 612 0 0 2531 1690 1290 0 0 0 0 452 0 6575
2014 884 789 0 2686 2098 1864 1438 0 719 722 593 1080 12873
2015 866 0 0 1938 3589 2544 688 0 0 0 0 1399 11025
I Avg 2008-2015 7859
2
