Chapter 4- Environmental Effects (CURRENT ASSIGNMENT)
Describes and provides the analysis of environmental effects of each alternative in detail. Also
describes the assumptions and assessment criteria used in analyzing impacts.
This chapter objectively evaluates the environmental impacts of implementing each alternative
described in Chapter 2. It forms the analytic basis for the comparative summary of impacts
presented in Chapter 2 (Table 2-2, Descriptions of Alternatives A, B, C, and D). Chapter 3
describes the existing conditions of the resources and resource uses that would be affected by the
alternatives. The organization of this chapter parallels that of Chapter 3, in that the resource
programs are presented in the same order. Because resources and resource uses are often
interrelated, one section may refer to another.
Describes and provides the rationale for selecting an alternative in whole, part or not at.all. Also
what management would be applied for resource protection, special designations and resource
use? Thus, review and analysis of Chapter 4 precedes our discussion on topics such as the
preferred alternative and travel management.
Chapter 5- Consultation and Coordination(Not Completed Yet)
Provides a brief history of the public involvement undertaken, a list of agencies and
organizations consulted and a list of preparers and their expertise.
Recreation Appendix(Additional comments encouraged)
Describes how Special Recreation Management Areas and Extensive Recreation Management
Areas would be managed under different alternatives.
Page - 9 - of 12
