Potential Future Research Opportunities— Recommendations from RRC
• Complete an analysis of 2015 Commercial data once it is available,
and present these results in formats similar to those used with 2012
— 2015 reports.
• Working with the Monitoring Work Group (or other identified
interested parties) continue to explore current data and work to
apply results to questions or hypothesis of the Stakeholders.
• Work with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff (Jon Ewert) to refine
the results and interpretation of data from the Angling Surveys in
order to develop benchmarks that can be used by the Stakeholders in
the future.
• Develop an archive system that can be used by Stakeholders (and
other interested parties with permissions from the Group) to further
analyze survey findings, as well as data from other sources and data
bases. RRC to provide current results in SPSS and Excel formats.
Also, develop new tools for exploring results in a user friendly
manner— RRC is suggesting that the commercial program Tableau
may be well suited to this future need.
• Remain open to the possibility of conducting additional fieldwork if,
as of a date close to the run-off period, there is reason to believe that
there will be "driest" or "dry typical" conditions for an extended
period.
• Next season, April through October, continue to place and monitor at
least three traffic counters in addition to those administered by BLM.
• Consider some additional fieldwork at sites developed by Eagle
County, particularly if the County is interested in such a collaborative
effort.
