38 <br /> 1 It ' s in place . It ' s , it ' s being paid for . About • <br /> 2 35 , 000 Acre Feet of storage capacity goes unused <br /> 3 every year . <br /> 4 The District would like to use a small amount <br /> 5 of that storage capacity for third party contracts . <br /> 6 There ' s a lot of mineral extraction above the <br /> 7 reservoir . People need our conditional water . We <br /> 8 have a perfect bucket for them to put it in, but <br /> 9 we ' re having a little issue with the Bureau in terms <br /> 10 , of whether we can do that legally . <br /> 11 We went to the Corps first . This was , what , a <br /> 12 year and-a-half ago, it being the Corps reservoir, <br /> 13 and asked the Corps , can we do this? The Corps <br /> 14 said, I don ' t know . We don ' t think so . We ' re not <br /> 15 sure , but it ' s not in our decision scheme . Go talk <br /> 16 to the Bureau . <br /> 17 So we went and talked to the Bureau . The <br /> 18 Bureau says , well , I don ' t think it ' s up to us . <br /> 19 ' It ' s a Corps project . It ought to be the Corps that <br /> 20 ' lets you do it . At which point , instead of <br /> 21 continuing to work with the Bureau, I should have <br /> 22 just done it and let them sue us if that ' s what they <br /> 23 wanted to do , but anyway, we ' re going to keep <br /> 24 working on that issue because it is , it ' s an <br /> 25 incredible resource and it just sits there unused .
