41/4 bNH COLORADO Larimer Ft Weld Canal Crossing Structure Project <br /> co ei Colorado Water <br /> Conservation Board Boxelder Basin Regional Stormwater Authority <br /> Substantially Complete August 1, 2016 <br /> a <br /> fr <br /> rg <br /> 07` 4 <br /> Project Description <br /> The Boxelder Basin Regional Stormwater Authority was formed in 2008, through an IGA between the City of <br /> Fort Collins, Larimer County and the Town of Wellington, to facilitate the construction of regional flood <br /> control projects to reduce the threat of flooding and remove areas from the FEMA floodplain in the Boxelder <br /> Creek basin. The crossing structure provides conveyance for 100-year flows from Boxelder Creek across the <br /> Larimer and Weld Canal in a safe and controlled manner. Previously the Boxelder Creek 100-year flows <br /> inundated the Larimer and Weld Canal, causing it to overflow west of 1-25 into the Cooper Slough drainage <br /> within the City of Fort Collins. The crossing structure is made up of a side-flow spillway and erosion control <br /> features to allow flood flows to safely pass over and across the canal.
