The "Summit Saves" is a program that looks for
low cost ways to educate their public about water conservation measures and will use
marketing research to identify messages that will resonate with their target audience
and will design materials around the results. HC3 will launch a Water Warriors program
in local schools to reach 260 6th graders. Through the HC3 website, resources and
toolkits will be made available to help homeowners and businesses measure and
reduce water use. Finally, HC3 plans to install water efficient fixtures in 50 homes and
businesses. If all of the measures for homeowners are implemented, HC3 estimates
there could be a 19% reduction or as much as 28,627 gallons of annual household water
use.
The total cost of the project is $53,095. HC3 is committing 26% matching funds in the
form of $9,825 of in-kind services and $11,325 in cash. CWCB staff has reviewed and
evaluated the grant application and has determined that the proposal meets or
exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
