What I would like you to consider is, if we would qualify for assistance even though we are not
directly an augmenting group. We were injured by a well group and much of our water is used for
augmentation, therefore, it seems that we would qualify. It also seems that as some of these former
GASP wells take their augmentation plans through court they would be looked upon more favorably if
they could show that their past depletions had been remedied. The Prewitt would be willing to forgive
the past injury upon acceptance of grant money from the drought program.
The amount of money in our invoice to GASP was an initial estimate of what the water was
worth to us. The Prewitt is willing to consider alternative prices. If I remember correctly the Central
Colorado Water Conservancy District purchased winter water in 2003-2004 for$50 per acre foot. And
I believe GASP paid injured parties$30 to$35 per acre foot for winter injury in 2003.
If you believe that pursuing this matter through the drought program is viable and/or you
require additional information, please let me know.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
THE PREWITT OPERATING COMMITTEE
qG
J es T.
