JCS - Statement of Success of Community River Protection Process <br /> • <br /> 1. The vast majority of the key stakeholders identified as interested in the protection <br /> of a certain stream reach personally commit to participate and actually do participate in <br /> the Community Process. <br /> , 2. Community Process meetings are adequately publicized so that interested parties <br /> may participate in the process, even though not personally invited to do so, and a number <br /> of such parties do participate. <br /> 3. Community meetings participants <br /> 1) are provided with adequate, initial documents clearly summarizing the <br /> work of the Steering Committee for the reach of the stream being considered for special <br /> protection; <br /> 2) participate fully in the development of revised stream checklists; <br /> 3) participate fully in identifying conflicts that may affect stream protection; <br /> 4) make informed decisions concerning the need for additional stream <br /> protections and the nature of those protections; <br /> 5) participate actively in the process to seek implementation of any desired, <br /> new protections identified. <br /> H:\WATER\SWCD\River Protection\JCS-success of Community River Protection Process.docl2/2/07 <br />
