JCS - Statement of Success of Community River Protection Process
•
1. The vast majority of the key stakeholders identified as interested in the protection
of a certain stream reach personally commit to participate and actually do participate in
the Community Process.
, 2. Community Process meetings are adequately publicized so that interested parties
may participate in the process, even though not personally invited to do so, and a number
of such parties do participate.
3. Community meetings participants
1) are provided with adequate, initial documents clearly summarizing the
work of the Steering Committee for the reach of the stream being considered for special
protection;
2) participate fully in the development of revised stream checklists;
3) participate fully in identifying conflicts that may affect stream protection;
4) make informed decisions concerning the need for additional stream
protections and the nature of those protections;
5) participate actively in the process to seek implementation of any desired,
new protections identified.
H:\WATER\SWCD\River Protection\JCS-success of Community River Protection Process.docl2/2/07
