The capability of developing water resources of the river will be <br /> foreclosed. <br /> MANAGEMENT PLAN <br /> The Wild and Scenic Rivers Act allows a period of about one year after wild and . <br /> scenic rivers designation for the administrative agency to prepare a management <br /> plan, including boundary identification, administration, development, and <br /> management in accordance with its classifications. Wild river classification <br /> complements the wilderness management allocations. Since the management <br /> requirements of the Land and Resource Management Plan are far more restrictive <br /> than those for wild river areas, it appears provisions for management under the <br /> Wilderness Act will generally apply and guide further planning. <br /> The following existing management and river corridor situations decrease the <br /> need for further specific river planning. It appears that the Congress could. <br /> upon designation, waive the planning requirements of Section 1(b) of the Act <br /> except for the establishment of detailed boundaries. <br /> 1. Forest planning under the authority of the National Forest Management Act <br /> of 1976 includes management direction and requirements for wilderness and <br /> wild and scenic rivers. <br /> 2. There are no private lands that would require easements or purchase. <br /> 3. Designation of the river will not result in any additional user development <br /> costs because of wilderness restrictions. <br /> • <br /> 4. The river is generally not a boatable river and will not require any <br /> special or additional white-water management costs. <br /> 5.
