Working Draft—GSFO Recreation Appendix- 3-6-2009 <br /> Glenwood Springs Field Office -Wide Recreation Objectives <br /> FO-wide Resource-Protection Objective: <br /> Increase awareness, understanding,and a sense of stewardship in recreational activity participants so their <br /> conduct safeguards cultural and natural resources as defined by Colorado Standards for Public Land Health or <br /> area-specific(e.g.,ACEC,wild and scenic river)objectives. <br /> FO-wide Visitor Health and Safety Objective: <br /> Ensure that visitors are not exposed to unhealthy or unsafe human-created conditions(defined by a repeat <br /> incident in the same year of the same type, in the same location, due to the same cause). <br /> FO-wide Use/User Conflict Objective: <br /> Achieve a minimum level of conflict between recreation participants to 1)allow other resources/programs to <br /> achieve their RMP objectives;2)curb illegal trespass and property damage; and 3)maintain a diversity of <br /> recreation activity participation. <br /> FO-wide Community Growth Area Objective: <br /> Increase collaboration with community partners to maintain appropriate activity-based recreation opportunities in <br /> community growth areas(BLM lands adjacent to between, and surrounding communities;also referred to as <br /> wildland-urban interface areas). <br /> Page I 2 <br />
