CWCB recommended Base flow-Kremmling to Pumphouse. Flows measured at USGS near
Kremmling(cfs):
Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
Flow 400 400 400 600 600 600 600 600 _ 600 400 400 400
Optimal target flows in a dy year(defined pursuant to runoff estimates where the expected
runoff is expected to be 70%of average or less based on a 10?year running average)(We need
to compare these numbers to the 70%of average numbers-
Pumphouse to State Bridge. Flows measured at USGS near Kremmling(cfs):
Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug_ Sep Oct Nov Dec
Flow 400 400 400 600 - - - - 400 400 400 400
600- 600- 600- 600-
900 900 900 900
This target flow scenario also includes a target flushing flow 1 out of every 2 years for up to
1800 cfs. Between May and August, the target flows are a range from 600 cfs to 900 cfs. The
SG could, (in my opinion)see if they can commit to a certain volume that would be dedicated
in dry years to the optimal target flows. The SG could attempt to work with existing water rights
holders to see if they can commit to meeting existing water right needs by shaping
a certain volume that could be dedicated to the optimal target flows. Thus, if
the previous year was a dry year and no flushing flow was met, then the SG management
committee can elect to reshape the flows in May through August to allow a Flushing Flow of
1800 cfs or greater for a 3-day duration during the May to mid-June period. However, this
would have to be managed in a manner to respect the prior appropriation system.
*Recreation(Fishing)ORV Flow Ranges are based on Grand County Stream Management Plan,Phase 2
(Tetratech et al.,April 2008)augmented by CDOW fish surveys utilizing the"mark and recapture"
method conducted[fall, 2008] and by user surveys conducted by Vital Resources on ,2008.#
Flushing Flows are based on Grand County Stream Management Plan,Phase 2(Tetratech et al.,April
2008)
