Water Supply Planning and Finance Section—Loan De-authorization
Park Center Water District—Park Center Well Rehabilitation Project
4110 Recommendation
Staff recommends the Board approve the de-authorization of the CWCB loan to the Park Center
Water District for the Park Center Well Rehabilitation Project.
Background
The CWCB approved a Severance Tax Trust Fund Perpetual Base Account loan of$1,110,000 in
January 2009 for redrilling the well that the Park Center Water District leases from the Bureau of
Land Management (BLM). The well is a primary source of water for the residents of the District,
located just north of Canon City. The well began leaking in the spring of 2008 and redrilling
became necessary for the District to continue providing water to its residents.
The District was awarded Federal stimulus money through the Bureau of Land Management in the
summer of 2009 which will cover the cost of the Project. The District has requested de-authorization
of the CWCB loan(see attached letter).
Since this project is a Small Project Loan(less than$10 million) and it does not require legislative
approval,the Board also has the authority to de-authorize the loan.
