DN COLORADO <br /> CO , Colorado Water <br /> Conservation Board <br /> Department of Natural Resources <br /> 1313 Sherman Street, Room 721 <br /> Denver, CO 80203 <br /> Memorandum <br /> To: Tom Browning, Assistant Director li D p(U e l <br /> From: Rebecca Mitchell v <br /> Kevin Reidy Et Ben Wade 51/b11t <br /> Water Supply Planning 1111 <br /> Date: May 13, 2014 <br /> Subject:Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for Mount Crested Butte Water Et Sanitation District <br /> Recommendation: <br /> The Water Supply Planning staff recommends that Tom Browning, Assistant Director of the CWCB, approve <br /> a Water Efficiency Grant in the amount of$17,650, for Mount Crested Butte Water a Sanitation District to <br /> develop two conservation plans. <br /> Summary of Grant Application <br /> CWCB staff received a Water Efficiency grant application from Mount Crested Butte Water Et Sanitation <br /> District requesting$17,650 to coordinate with Skyland Metropolitan District to develop two water <br /> conservation plans in order to help manage water resources in the Upper East River Valley. <br /> Both water providers are non-covered entities located in the Gunnison Basin. Water resource <br /> management is becoming increasingly important to local and regional planning efforts in the Upper East <br /> River Valley. Mt Crested Butte Et Skyland Metro are seeking to combine current and future water <br /> conservation programs, integrate conservation with drought responses, budgeting and overall water <br /> resources planning. Over the next ten years, Mt Crested Butte is estimating a new plan with help reduce <br /> demand by 21 acre-feet. Over the same planning period, Skyland Metro District is estimated to save 4 <br /> acre feet. The estimates on reduced demand assumes the population in each service area will increase <br /> 2.5%over 10 years. <br /> The total project cost is $24,030. Contributing partners have pledged 26% matching funds in the form of <br /> in-kind services totaling$6,380.
