The City
has had a conservation plan on file with the CWCB since April 2010. Lafayette believes
it is important to be a role model in water conservation and they will lead by example
and replace existing fixtures in City Hall with WaterSense approved fixtures. The City
will purchase six faucets, nine 0.8 gpf toilets and two urinals. The City estimates the
replacement fixtures will save over 78,000 gallons or .24 acre feet of water per year.
Based on their conservation plan, the City ultimately is seeking to reduce their total
water use by 287 acre feet by 2016.
The total cost of the project is $6,959.78. Lafayette is committing 25% matching funds
in the form of $1,739.94 in cash. CWCB staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant
application and has determined that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB
guidelines for reviewing grant proposals. Attached is the internal checklist used to
evaluate the application.
Attachment: Evaluation Checklist
