New wetland areas currently end approximately 15 feet from the new high water mark. Given <br /> more time, it is expected that wetland will extend to the new high water mark. In 2012 and 2013, <br /> water levels were not sufficient to sustain wetland. 2012 was a dry year and drawdown began the <br /> first part of June. In 2013, the reservoir was not filled to perform maintenance on the dam. <br /> Sufficient hydrology was present in 2011 and 2014 to support wetland vegetation. , <br /> Secondary impacts to vegetation cover, richness, and diversity in the newly inundated zone were <br /> not detected. There was a slight decrease of functional value in the hydrogeomorphology index <br /> because of the change to hydrologic regime in the newly inundated zone. Compensation for this <br /> slight decrease in functional value was offset with an increase in wetland surface area. Overall, <br /> the total wetland value for wetlands and fen within the newly inundated zone has increased from <br /> baseline conditions. <br /> It is likely wetland function will continue to improve provided normal drawdown operations <br /> continue.
