This wetland type was present around the
perimeter except at the dam, which is fortified with riprap. Common plant species observed are
Northwest Territory sedge (Carex utriculata), water sedge (Carex aquatilus), and common
spikerush (Eleocharis palustris).
The willow dominated wetland is located directly above the emergent wetland on the west and
south sides of the reservoir. The willow dominated wetland consisted of a thick willow canopy
with scattered grass and carex species found in the understory. Common plant species observed
are park willow (Salix monticola), diamondleaf willow (Salix planifolia), Geyer willow (Salix
geyeriana), bluejoint (Calamagrostis canadensis), and Northwest Territory sedge (Carex
utriculata)
The fen locations were delineated in 2009 and determined by soil samples.
