Accuracy of Totalizing Flow Meters (TFM)
1) Accuracy and repeatability are not the same. You cannot have
accuracy without having repeatability. If you have good accuracy, you
are bound to have good repeatability. Measuring the repeatability of an
instrument does not imply the instrument is necessarily accurate.
2) Accuracy is usually evaluated against an absolute ( e.g.mathematics),
or a standard (ASTM, industry standard, etc.).
3) Precision o Accuracy, You can be Precisely Inaccurate!
TFM Accuracy is closeness to a Standard
Measurement (e.g. A certified gage, or meter)
Types of Flow Meters
Toe Applications
— ►Impeller or Turbine Irrigation, Domestic
-+ Ultra -sonic
Doppler
Electro- Magnetic
Sweeping Vortex
Testing, Industrial
Manufacturing, Testing
Continuous Processing
Industrial, Irrigation
Mass Displacement, etc. Industrial, Bottling
-► Pitot Tube Testing, laboratory
3
