Update of Districts' 2010 Operations <br />2010 Plan of Operations <br />Due to the below normal water supply forecasts and below average Lake McConaughy <br />carry -over storage, the Districts will follow a conservation mode of operation to <br />maximize the combined storage in Lake McConaughy and the Sutherland Project. <br />Non- Irrigation Season <br />â– Releases to satisfy FERC release requirements, fill Elwood Reservoir, maintain <br />Sutherland Reservoir and as necessary for icing conditions <br />Irrigation Season <br />â– Releases to meet irrigation demands <br />McConaughy <br />Actual <br />Oct -Mar Inflows <br />388.2 kaf <br />Oct -Mar Outflows <br />74.1 kaf <br />McConaughy end of March <br />3243.8 Ft. Releases of storage water from Lake McConaughy for delivery to their <br />irrigation customers are anticipated to begin in June and end in early September. <br />Central's irrigation customers will be offered a normal contract of 18 inches per acre this <br />season, the first time since 2004. <br />Maintenance <br />The Districts are planning to finish up the Kingsley Hydro Rehab this month. Lake <br />Maloney is being refilled after its outage this past winter. NPPD is planning for a lengthy <br />outage on one of the North Platte hydro units this coming fall /winter. Both Districts will <br />perform general maintenance on hydropower plants and other system facilities in the non- <br />irrigation season. <br />
