Water Plan Implementation <br />The focus on Water activities during this period continued to be a split between activities related to <br />Adaptive Management Plan activities (wet meadow hydrology study implementation) and maintaining <br />momentum on on -going activities related to water Action Plan Projects. For both aspects of Water Plan, <br />development of Work Plan and Budget was refined and advanced. Other specific activities in each of <br />these categories include: <br />AMP oriented efforts include: <br />• Wet Meadow GW Modeling Report and Wet Meadow Data Summary Reports in Work Group <br />review process. <br />• Assemblage of Wet Meadow peer review package progressing. <br />• Coordination with UNL soil moisture measurement researchers on large scale measurement <br />approaches proceeding, agreements under development and additional instrumentation installed. <br />• Assessment of monitoring data for SDMF and Fall 2013 flood waters on South Platte on -going <br />and draft of Fall 2013 Flood Hydrology report continues. <br />• Oversight of contractor performing design of waste way improvement for North Platte and <br />Suburban canals to improve NP to SP conveyance capability provided. <br />• Development of monitoring network for Morse wetland completed and oversight of monitoring well <br />installation provided. Instrumentation installed. <br />Water Action Plan oriented efforts include: <br />• Effort initiated for updating Water Action Plan underway. <br />• Development and posting of hydrologic conditions. <br />• On -going discussions with surface water right holders interested in selling water yields to <br />Program. Discussions between NPPD, DNR, and CPNRD with the Program concerning such <br />water transfers occurring for Dawson County Canal water. <br />• Discussions on -going with CNPPID on a variable term water leasing program and storage water <br />leasing program. <br />• Discussions ongoing with NPNRD on water leasing through land retirement program. <br />• Scoring analysis for CPNRD leased water continues in coordination with NRD staff. <br />• Evaluation of enhanced recharge recovery from Phelps Canal recharge using wells under <br />investigation. <br />• Evaluation of yields and costs associated with inclusion of Elwood recharge in lease <br />arrangements with CNPPID continues. <br />• On -going coordination regarding STELLA model modifications underway with HDR. Specific <br />operations to be included for J2 Reservoir and Phelps Canal Recharge operations developed for <br />implementation into model. <br />• Investigation of North Platte River above Lake McConaughy underway for evaluation of hydrology <br />and water rights in NPNRD. <br />• Coordination with COHYST consultants and Sponsor Group on -going to develop work plan and <br />budget for next steps in 2015. <br />Adaptive Management Plan Implementation <br />Efforts during this period for AMP activities were focused on AMP Reporting session follow -up, oversight <br />of monitoring contractors, specific forage fish, WC, and T &P data analysis, development of materials for <br />publication and /or peer review, and concluding fall field activities.
