Figure 4 - Overview of field site for the stream/aquifer analysis test site at the
Tamarack State Wildlife Area performed on December 6th -7th, 2002.
The pumping test is performed for a 24 -hour period on December 6th -7th, 2002,
with a constant groundwater abstract rate, Q= 10,900 m3 -d-1, from pumping well R3
located 94 m from the slough channel. No other wells shown in Figure 4 are operational
during the test. Water level is measured periodically in the five observation wells
depicted in Figure 4: one located 15 m from the slough on the pumping well side,
A15ES; one located 2 m from the slough on the pumping well side,132ES; one located 15
m from the slough on the side of the South Platte River, C15WS; one located 135 m from
the slough on the side of the South Platte River, D135WS; and one located 16 m from the
South Platte River, E16SPR. Water level is also measured in the pumping well, in an
existing observation well (T6) on the side of the pumping well opposite from the slough
channel, in the slough channel, and in the South Platte River. Water level measurements
are made using manual water level recorders. Figure 5 demonstrates the initial water
levels along a transect from the pumping well, through the slough channel, and outward
to the South Platte River.
7
