Jon Altenhofen
From: Vail- DNR, Richard [richard.vail @state.co.us]
Sent: Friday, September 26, 2014 8:42 AM
To: Jon Altenhofen
Cc: Pete Conovitz-DNR; Levi Kokes- DNR; Steve Patterson -DNR; Joe Frank
Subject: Re: Tamarack status for jack/bore under 1-76
Jon,
He is the schedule as I understand it:
Step 1: Prior to June of 2015, CPW engineering staff will provide SPWRAP with a preliminary
estimate for project delivery. Until then we should put in a placeholder that I will talk
about later.
Step 2: Assuming that SPWRAP agrees with the estimate and wants CPW to deliver the
project, full engineering design, permitting and project bidding would take place prior to
June of 2016. I would think that any remaining funds from SCTF account could be eaten up
with CPW engineering costs during this period (I would still need to seek CWCB approval for
those funds to cover our costs).
Step 3: Project construction, the bulk of the overall project budget (with SPWRAP funds)
would be expended prior to June of 2017.
If I remember correctly, a couple of years ago I put together a very rough estimate for you
for just the bore at somewhere around $750,000. Since we are still in the very preliminary
stages I would suggest using a placeholder for your purposes of $1.5 mil. This should be
more than conservative to address such issues as booster pumps (I am still not clear if we
would need them), pond development, additional pipeline, etc. When CPW delivers a more
refined number, SPWRAP could update the placeholder.
I hope that this helps.
Have a great weekend. 17' b/.'v
1t/ a/
Richard Vail, P.E. ` ; J
Senior Water Resource Engineer ,
,A 1COLORAD ©
CO °: ; p,; . Any info would be helpful.
Jeff and Levi mentioned that the Interstate is being resurfaced soon thru Tamarack and wonder if coordination
with that effort might be helpful?
9/29/2014
