A DNR COLORADO
CO Colorado Water
' Conservation Board
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 721
Denver, CO 80203
Memorandum
To: Tom Browning, Assistant Director Appc-60e) ///7
From: Becky Mitchell 14141/4/---'
Kevin Reidy &t Ben Wade
Water Supply Planning
Date: November 7, 2014
Subject: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for the City of Lamar
Recommendation:
The Water Supply Planning staff recommends that Tom Browning, Assistant Director,
approve a Water Efficiency Grant to update a Water Efficiency Plan in the amount of
$19,100 for the City of Lamar.
Summary of Grant Application
The City of Lamar is a covered entity located in the Arkansas River Basin and has had a
Water Efficiency Plan on file with the CWCB since October 2010. An updated plan from
Lamar is due on October 26, 2017.
In August 2013, the City completed a major upgrade to its customer meters by
installing new automated meter reading devices and advanced meter infrastructure to
improve data collection &t management of customer water use monitoring and billing.
Following the upgrade, the City has decided updating their Water Conservation Plan is
well timed and valuable as the new data will help inform City staff to evaluate current
water conservation efforts and determine which programs to continue and enhance or
discontinue.
The total cost of the project is $26,600. Lamar is committing 28% matching funds in
the form of $1,650 in cash a $5,850 of in-kind services. CWCB staff has reviewed and
evaluated the grant application and has determined that the proposal meets or
exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals. Attached is the internal
checklist used to evaluate the application.
Attachment: Evaluation Checklist
