Fischer n-
Secretary-Engineer r S ..f 1
Colorado River Waters,,
Conservation District
Post Office Box 1120 .
Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601
Dear Mr. isclzer:
This is in response to your letter of October 26, 1979, concerning
the proposed Juniper-Cross Mountain project.
Until engineering, operational, environmental and other pertinent
analyses have been completed for this project, it would be premature
for the State to take a position on it. Thus, I have not communicated
.with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission at this time.
However, I certainly do support the efforts of the River District •
to examine the feasibility of this project. Indeed, I urge you to keep
the Department of Natural Resources fully informed on the studies you
are undertaking, and the results of those studies. In this way, the State •
can be kept abreast of the project, thereby avoiding the possibility that di
any necessary analyses might be overlooked. If you could brief,Depart-
ment of Natural Resources personnel at regular and frequent intervals,
and make your studies available as early as possible, this would greatly
assist the State in reaching a decision on the project in a timely fashion
at some future date. •
Sincerely,
-(------- -:....._.t
cam._
Richa d D.
