Eddie Kochman, chief of fisheries management, will
attend our meeting for Jim, who had a previous commitment to be
out of town with the Wildlife Commission.
Discussion
The Colorado statutes on threatened and endangered species
were revised effective January 1, 1985, as part of a general
recodification of the Division of Wildlife ' s authorities . The
recodification provides the Wildlife Commission and Division of
Wildlife with general legislative direction on the management of
nongame species, including threatened and endangered species .
The relevant article from the statutes is attached.
The major change of interest to water agencies is a
requirement that the Colorado Water Conservation Board, Colorado
Water Resources and Power Development Authority, water
conservancy and conservation districts, and other water
development agencies be consulted prior to listing of species or
subspecies as threatened or endangered (section 33-2-105) .
