During the Senate Ag Commit- <br /> tee hearings, three additional priority projects were added: <br /> namely, the Cortez Pipeline, a feature of the Dolores Project; <br /> the Sedgwick-Sand Draws Project; and a component of the <br /> Stagecoach Reservoir Project, identified as Land and Water Rights <br /> Appraisal. The Senate Ag Committee also reaffirmed preparation <br /> of the Site Development Plan for the Stagecoach Reservoir <br /> Project, a requirement in last year 's bill authorizing the <br /> project. Also in the Senate Ag Hearings, the question of Senate <br /> confirmation of Board members was discussed. This item has not <br /> been resolved. <br /> g. Federal Appropriations <br /> The U. S. Senate and House Appropriations Committees have <br /> scheduled the usual sessions for testimony on the Bureau of <br /> Reclamation and Corps of Engineers programs . Mr. Getches and <br /> Mr. McDonald have asked for time to testify on Colorado projects <br /> and have been granted that time during the first week in April. <br /> In previous years, Mr. McDonald, representing Governor Lamm, <br /> presented testimony in support of the following Colorado <br /> projects: <br /> 1. Narrows and Animas La Plata - Construction funds . <br /> 2. Colorado River Salinity Control - Construction and plan- <br /> ning funds . <br /> 3. Westerly Creek - Planning and engineering funds. <br /> 4. Dominguez Reservoir - Planning funds <br /> 5. Fountain Creek - Construction <br /> 6. CRSP Power Revenues Proposal <br /> In response to Mr. McDonald's question concerning testimony <br /> in support of the above-listed projects , Mr. Jackson moved, sec- <br /> onded by Mr. Johnston, that Mr. McDonald attend the hearings <br /> and present testimony on all projects except the Dominguez <br /> Reservoir. The motion was approved unanimously by voice vote. <br /> h. Cost-Sharing <br /> Mr. McDonald called attention to the discussion at the <br /> February 16, 1984, special Board meeting, particularly with <br /> reference to efforts to obtain federal funds for the Animas-La <br /> Plata and Narrows Projects and the relationship of these efforts <br /> to cost-sharing in light of the President ' s announcement on cost- <br /> sharing policies of the Administration. Stemming from these <br /> discussions, Board members, at the February meeting, asked Mr. <br /> McDonald to prepare a draft letter to the Legislative leadership • <br /> stressing the importance of, legislative action with reference to <br /> state cost-sharing for these projects (Appendix B attached) . <br /> -4- <br />
