I
i also told him that I did not feel that the letter from Hodgson
had any real bearing on the site plan which we wish to submit
to the Board and the Legislature. We are fully aware that the
concerns innumerated must be addressed in the Environmental
Assessment and we intend to do so . I will respond to the items
circled which Nick indicated were of particular concern to you.
Concerns 1) & 3)--The District has made commitments to the effect
that certain lands which the District will be acquiring to the
north of the reservoir will be dedicated as elk wintering range
and, provided the County agrees we are perfectly agreeable to
having County Road 14 above the reservoir on the north side
closed during the winter season.
Concern #2—Recreational camping will be located west of the
half section line as suggested.
Concern #8—Dogs and other pets , as in Steamboat Lake, will
have to be controlled.
Concern #9—A buffer zone for public access , as agreed to with the Divisior
of Parks , has been provided as you can see on the site plan.
Concern #10—We are providing boat ramps on both the north and
south sides of the reservoir, as described and shown on the site plan.
Concern #11—We will need access to the dam on the north side but
we are perfectly agreeable to having this access gated in the
wintertime to prevent public use and harassment of the elk on the
wintering range.
