FPR 214 COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 823 State Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 May 5 , 1983 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Hydro-Triad, LTD, has previously completed a report entitled "Floodplain Information, Gore Creek, Vail, Colorado, " dated June, 1975, which contains the existing floodplain information on Gore Creek; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the Town of Vail , by resolution adopted January 14, 1976, approved and designated the floodplains described in said report; and WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Vail , Colorado, " which includes floodplain information and data for Gore Creek and portions of the following tributaries : Buffehr Creek, Red Sandstone Creek, Middle Creek, West Mill Creek, East Mill Creek, Booth Creek, Pitkin Creek, Bighorn Creek, Spraddle Creek, Upper Gore Creek, and Black Gore Creek, dated November 2 , 1982 , has been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc . , under contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or basins of the study area; and WHEREAS, the Town of Vail has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106( 1 ) , Colorado Revised Statutes 1973 , requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes 1973 , provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and 128 res/214
