He has something <br /> to say in oonnection with Mr. Patterson's absence. Before <br /> we proceed to any other business I will afford Judge Stone <br /> an opportunity to make a statement . Judge Stone. <br /> MR. STONE: Mr. Chairman, unfortunately, Mr. Patterson <br /> is quite ill in California. He went out there to attend a <br /> meeting of the Engineering Committee of the Colorado River <br /> Compact Commission. The Committee were working with Mr. <br /> Blaney, who is, as you all know, a consumptive use expert . <br /> He intended to spend a week out there. Apparently, Charley <br /> got down last Wednesday. He is at his daughter's home and <br /> he has a nurse with him . His wife didn't know how soon he <br /> 'cull return, and I thought there was some possibility that <br /> he might be able to get here about the middle of the week <br /> and participate in this meeting or a part of this meeting. <br /> But Charley advised me over the phone yesterday that that <br /> was the first day bhat he could get out of bed, and that <br /> he was still awfully sick, and they would not permit him to <br />
