The estimate of Average Mean of Monthly Streamflows shown in Figure 1 is a
combination of flows from USGS gauge 09361500 on the Animas River and flows
from gauge 09362000 on Lightner Creek. Both of these gauges are located a short
distance upstream of the proposed Boating Park. Of note is that the contribution
from Lightner Creek is relatively insignificant except in the months of March, April,
and May. In these months the flows from Lightner contribute roughly 8%,12%,
and 3% of the total flow in the Animas at the confluence. Peak flows for both of
these sources are shown in Figures 2 and 3:
