From a design <br />standpoint the "User Group" includes all of the entities that are involved in using the river <br />corridor. These users are diverse; however, with regard to identifying design criteria for this <br />park primary users include: <br />The City of Durango <br />The City of Durango as a whole has a tremendous stake in the manner in which the <br />Animas River is utilized because of the significant impact of the Animas on tourism <br />within the City, on flood impacts along the river corridor, and upon quality of life for <br />residents within the City, the City has expressed a wish to seek out opportunities to <br />improve the tourism and local recreational amenities in and around the region.
