Water delivered from upstream reservoirs through the project k '4 o <br /> reach to the downstream Pueblo reservoir sustains flows during the falling limb of the <br /> hydrograph. <br /> Ooo <br /> V. Whitewater Recreation Flows (!,,.•-y ye OVE• <br /> The Upper Arkansas Voluntary Flow Management Program has been a successful <br /> cooperative effort between water providers to maintain recreation flows in the Arkansas <br /> River. The program has been in effect for 13 years. The flow program is a year round <br /> program that provides flows to protect fisheries during the shoulder seasons and provide <br /> flows for whitewater recreation from July 1St to August 15th. The Colorado Division of <br /> Natural Resources (CDNR)request by letter to the Bureau of Land Management through <br /> the Southeastern Water Conservation District to maintain a minimum amount of water of <br /> 700cfs for whitewater recreation during the July 1St to August 15th period. Referred to as <br /> the Frying Pan-Arkansas project,there are approximately 10,000 acre-feet of water stored <br /> for the flow management program. Reclamation releases Fry-Ark water stored in <br /> Turquoise and Twin Lakes reservoir down the Arkansas River through the project reach <br /> • `DRIVE <br /> �� 4of16 <br />
