Canyon City River Recreation Enhancements PHASE 1 PROPOSAL October 9,2008 <br /> Canon City River Recreation Enhancements <br /> PHASE 1 PROPOSAL <br /> Phase I Implementation Process <br /> Task 9 Plans for the Final Design <br /> After the desired design approach and environmental criteria has been uncovered, <br /> and an alternative has been selected by the City, a final design of the River Recreation <br /> Enhancements will be developed. This will be a plan view set of maps that spatially <br /> relates hydraulic features, access paths, spectator areas, riparian landscaping, floodplain <br /> and other pertinent information. These plans will break the project into construction <br /> phases as necessary. The plans will include cost estimates of each construction phase of <br /> the project. <br /> Task 10 Construction Plans and Specifications <br /> We will develop construction plans and specifications for the River Recreation <br /> Enhancements Design. These will be detailed plans and specifications on constructing <br /> the hydraulic structures, recreation amenities, signage,pathways, view areas and <br /> landscaping of the waterways and riparian zone. Included in the Plans will be <br /> specifications on best management practices that must be implemented under permit <br /> requirements in order to control and mitigate temporary non-point source pollution <br /> associated with construction activity. <br /> Task 11 Construction Bid Package Preparation <br /> We will work with Canon City in preparation of the Construction Bid Package. <br /> We will assist the city in contactor selection. We will provide Engineering Design <br /> clarifications to the contractor. <br /> Phase I Construction Monitoring <br /> Task 12 Construction Engineering Services <br /> Designers will be onsite to review critical construction phases associated with the <br /> River Recreation Enhancements. We will be available to perform survey work and stake <br /> out critical design features, as well as monitor the proper installation of features and <br /> conformance with plans and specifications. Furthermore, we will be in the field to make <br /> contractor clarifications and facilitate field modifications to prevent delays. <br /> The City staff will be required to provide stakeholder information and <br /> coordination with any citizen groups or entities. City staff will be required to select the <br /> alternative of choice to proceed with final design. We will identify lands desired for the <br /> project and the City will be responsible for any landowner, easement and/or real-estate <br /> issues, including access for survey and construction. City Staff will be required to <br /> conduct contracting services related to the construction process. The City Staff may also <br /> play a large role in fund raising with our technical support and guidance.
