The Keystone Center brings together public and private stakeholders to discuss <br /> differences and work towards sustainable solutions regarding water and other environmental concerns. <br /> The proposed project will be broken into two phases. In Phase 1, the Keystone Center will assemble a <br /> core working group made up of water providers, land use planners and developers, economic <br /> development professionals, conservationists and public officials to address the issue of land and water use <br /> decisions. The group will identify and explore impactful strategies that, if achieved, help reduce water <br /> use in new development and redevelopment. Research will be done to identify, better understand and <br /> quantify land use planning and development approaches that have been successful in Colorado and similar <br /> places. The findings of the this project will help CWCB understand this nexus better as staff continues to <br /> work on statewide water planning projects. <br /> The total project cost is$125,000. Contributing partners have pledged 64% matching funds in the form of <br /> cash totaling$80,000. CWCB staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined <br /> that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
