Message Page 1 of 1
Henderson, Chad
From: Henderson, Chad
Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 3:22 PM
To: 'Ann M Lopkoff
Subject: RE: Grant$
Ann, the CWCB is currently reviewing the CWPDA's grant application. Answers to the following questions will
assist our review. Written answers, through a reply to this email or otherwise, will be most helpful. Please
call or email me if you have any questions.
(1)Several figures in the"Drought Impact"section, Table 1, do not match the information provided in the
"Annual Budget"section. Specifically, for water purchases in years 2003 and 2004, the total acre-feet
purchased and average cost per acre-foot do not match the figures in Table 1. Please correct.
(2) In the"Drought Impact"section, Table 1,what is"If/When Storage costs"? Who was your vendor for the
service provided? Was augmentation water stored? If so, how much water was stored and what was the unit
price of that water?
(3)The 2003 Water Budget Accounting table shows $562.40 for the purchase of zero acre-feet of water from
the City of Widefield. Please explain.
(4) Data in the "Annual Budget"section indicate that several water vendors had extreme price increases,
while most had modest price increases. For example, between 2000 and 2002 per-acre-foot prices for water
from the Southeastern Colorado Water Activity Enterprise and the Pueblo Board of Water Works went from
• $8.00 and $6.48 to $50.92 and $52.41 respectively. Also, Cody Company prices jumped from $8.00 in 2003
to $40.50 in 2004. Please explain the decision to purchase this high-priced water.
(5) Data in the"Annual Budget"section indicate that between 2000 and 2001, the per-acre-foot price from the
City of Widefield went from $8.00 to $40.65. Since 2001 was a non-drought year, please explain this price
difference.
Chad Henderson
Water Supply Planning and Finance Section
Colorado Water Conservation Board
(303)866-3462
chad.henderson @state.co.us
Original Message
From: Ann M Lopkoff [mailto:cwpdaann @centurytel.net]
Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 10:03 AM
To: Henderson, Chad
Subject: Grant $
Can you please give me the status of the grant?
