I <br /> ID HISTORY OF THE COLORADO WATER PROTECTIVE AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> ASSOCIATION <br /> rThe Colorado Water Protective and Development Association is a nonprofit organization, <br /> incorporated in the State of Colorado in 1965. <br /> IThe stated primary purpose of the association is to protect and develop underground and surface <br /> waters of the Arkansas River Basin. <br /> I <br /> CWPDA has over 500 members representing approximately 1019 wells. The membership is <br /> composed of individuals, corporations, municipalities, and other entities that own or control <br /> I wells within the Arkansas River Basin. <br /> IISince it's conception, the primary function of CWPDA has been to provide augmentation water <br /> to replace depletions resulting from member wells. State rules and regulations governing use of <br /> 1 ground water in the Arkansas River Basin curtails well diversions. With proper augmentation, <br /> CWPDA members have been allowed to pump without restrictions as a result of state approved <br /> supplemental supply plans. <br /> 14WPDA has been active in monitoring the Kansas vs. Colorado lawsuit and has assisted the <br /> State of Colorado by providing vital information concerning member wells and their diversions. <br /> 1 CWPDA's legal counsel, M.E. MacDougall, has been careful to anticipate possible outcomes of <br /> that litigation. <br /> I CWPDA has also retained the services of Ivan's <br /> Engineering Inc. to assist in the technical <br /> 1 aspects of it's activities. . <br /> IServices Provided to CWPDA Members <br /> II1. Augmentation water to keep member pumps operating. <br /> 2. Well tests to determine volume and efficiency <br /> 3. Timely reports to the state to keep members in compliance with recent rules and regulations. <br /> I <br /> 1 <br />
