Overview <br /> A Background <br /> On February 4,2004,Governor fill Owens requested that Secretary Ann M. <br /> Veneman make Farm Service Agency(FSA) emergency(EM) loans available <br /> to all eligible farmers in three Colorado counties due to losses caused by drought, <br /> that began January I,2003,in Logan County and July 2, 2003 in Cheyenne and <br /> Phillips counties and is continuing. <br /> Upon approval of the above three primary counties,Morgan,Phillips, Sedgwick, <br /> 411 Washington, and Weld counties will be named as contiguous disaster areas due <br /> l ,+ to_losses caused by drought that began on Tanury 1,2003. Kiowa and Lincoln <br /> counties will be named as contiguous disaster counties due to losses caused by <br /> drftght that.began on July I, 2003. <br /> 2 County Office Action <br /> A Designation Dates <br /> This designation makes all family-sized farm operators in primary and contiguous <br /> counties eligible to be considered for low interest emergency loans from FSA, <br /> provided eligibility requiren eats are met.
