• Support the investigation of potential future climate change and drought impacts through <br /> use of Colorado's Decision Support System models and other planning project efforts. <br /> • Provide seed funding for expanded stream gage improvements, ground water monitoring <br /> wells, water system improvements, climate monitoring stations to monitor, assess, and <br /> predict future water supplies and vulnerabilities to water supplies due to potential impacts <br /> from climate change. <br /> • Comprehensive update to the 2002 Colorado Drought Mitigation and Response Plan, <br /> including potential development of statewide triggers and identification of anticipated <br /> socioeconomic drought impacts. <br /> The State's Drought Impact Task Force has recently evaluated and expanded its drought mitigation <br /> goals into the following eight goals. These will be used to guide the selection of activities under the <br /> Program. <br /> 1. Improve Water Availability Monitoring <br /> 2. Increase Public Awareness and Education <br /> 3. Support Substitute Water Supply Plans and Leasing Options to Augment Water Supply <br /> 4. Facilitate Watershed and Local Planning <br /> 5. Reduce Water Demand/Encourage Conservation <br /> 6.
