Provide a brief description of your organization below: <br /> The Flood Protection Program and Office of Water Conservation and Drought Planning are two <br /> of the major program areas in the CWCB, which exist to prepare for, respond to, and mitigate <br /> the negative impacts from natural hazards such as droughts and floods. The CWCB is <br /> authorized by Statute to perform such activities. <br /> irPart B.-Description of the Project or Study <br /> 1. Name of the study or project: Flood and Drought Response Fund <br /> 2. What is the purpose of this grant application? Check one. <br /> xx Study <br /> Demonstration project. This request is to request a continuation the existing Flood and <br /> Drought Response Fund up to$500,000 to continue to provide <br /> Rehabilitation or services related to the program.This program is currently authorized <br /> replacement of existing in C.R.S. 37-60-123.2 and provides valuable technical services for <br /> 411 <br /> Other(Please describe) Colorado communities and the public at large. <br /> Requested amount has been increased due to significant demands <br /> placed on the fund in 2012 and 2013 due to drought and wildfires. <br /> 3. General location of the study or demonstration project. (Please include county, and approximate distance <br /> and direction from the nearest town): <br /> Funds from this project would be used statewide in areas where flood or drought events occur or where <br /> mapping/hazard mitigation needs of high priority are identified. Priorities will generally be correlated <br /> with local request and contribution and community need. Statewide flood and drought updates will <br /> typically be provided during a presentation to the Board at its March meetings or as needed. <br /> 4. Please provide a brief narrative description of the proposed study or demonstration project including <br /> purpose, need,and service area. (Attach scope of study, if available) <br /> Provide engineering, meteorological, and other technical services related to the 5 major <br /> elements of the Flood Response Fund.
